How do we perceive environmental versus climate justice? Emerging climate crises often mirror environmental justice issues yet in practice are they the same? Perceptions are important in distinguishing justice issues, and transitions between human rights versus climate justice at different scales is complicated especially when diverse, underrepresented voices are missing in the sciences associated with climate and environmental justice, leading to the question of parachute scientists jumping into communities with different cultures than their own. Here I explore the landscape between environmental justice within the US versus global climate justice and connections with environmental negotiations between different communities and countries.
