Senior lecturer/Researcher

Background and experience: I am a mangrove ecologist, and have over 15 years of professional experience. I have been a lecturer/researcher with the University of Port Harcourt since 2008. I teach ecology and environmental science courses. I coordinate seminar series in my department. Prior to obtaining these positions, I lectured in a community college (2006-2008), served as research and a teaching assistant with Saint Louis University (2009-2013), and an instructor of environmental safety (2003-2006). Earlier in my career, I taught in high school (1997-2003). I began my education at the University of Port Harcourt, where I obtained a BSc in zoology, an MSc in environmental management from the University of Science and Technology, and a PhD in Biology from Saint Louis University, Missouri. I have over sixty-five publications.
I have some awards during my academic career as listed below: (1) Edward L & Rhelda Marbry Morgan Ph.D. Award, SLU, USA., (2) GSA-Brennan 2012 Summer Fellowship Award, SLU, USA, (3) Certificate of Achievement in Research Excellence, SLU Graduate Student Association, (4) International Agency for Standards & Ratings: World Championship in Environmental Science (precipitation), (5) Marquis Who’s Who: Award for Excellence in Education, (6) ESA excellence in ecology scholarship award, (7) University of Port-Harcourt award for academic excellence.
