Jasmine is a 2nd-year M.S. student at Sacramento State University. She is pursuing her degree in Biological Sciences, with an emphasis in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation. She obtained her B.A. degree in Enviornemntal Studies at UC Santa Barbara. She is interested in ecosystem management to enhance and maintain critical ecosystem services and functions. Her current research focuses on invasive plant management in wetland-grassland habitats, to promote the establishment of native species and alter the landscape from an invasive donimated one to a native dominated landscape.
Prior to this research, she has gained experience as an intern with the National Park Service in Southern California working with the native plant nursery onsite and conducting field surveys monitoring invasive plants following the 2018 Woolsey Fire. She briefly worked with the CA Department of Food and Agriculture monitoring invasive fruit fly species, and is now currently employed with the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife where she continues her work researching invasive plant species management and restoration.
