The SARE internship, through the Idaho EPSCoR GEM3 Program, was my introduction to the necessity of creating multidisciplinary, collaborative networks in science. Through SARE, I assisted with a sagebrush steppe landscape community genomics project, interacting with researchers and witnessing how areas of expertise intertwine to create a thorough understanding of sagebrush steppe. I was so excited by this work that I continued it through my senior thesis, exploring the impacts of sagebrush genetic and environmental factors on arthropods. As I continue my studies, I aim to prioritize the collaborative ideals that were instilled in me by the SARE program.
