The life cycle of a caddisfly spans both aquatic and terrestrial environments. As a result, caddisflies have evolved some unique life-history strategies to deal with the challenges of living in two worlds. However, the very strategies that have helped these animals become one of the most diverse taxonomic groups on the planet, make them vulnerable to climate change. In this talk I will focus on a group of caddisflies in the high elevation ponds of Colorado and explore how their life-histories and responses to climate change have shaped how I approach science and engage with the world around us.
