In the rocky shore community of the Pacific coast, I study (1) the mechansims by which predatory sea stars stabilize local mussel populations depsite substantial short-term variation in mussel recruitment, an (2) the extent to which this interaction has been disrupted by global warming over the last 5 decades. Throughout a long career, I worked to expand opportunity and diversity in Ecology.
