I'm a second-year Environmental Studies Ph.D. Student in Dr. Karen Holl's Restoration Ecology Lab at UC Santa Cruz. My primary interest includes understanding the impacts of fire on coastal prairie habitat communities and how we can better integrate disturbance regimes to help increase native forb species diversity and abundance. I received my M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science at the University of Nevada, Reno in May 2021, studying morphological trait variation of singleleaf pinyon pine related to environmental gradients with advisors Dr. Peter Weisberg and Dr. Ali Urza. My B.A. is in Environmental Studies/Biology Combined Major from UC Santa Cruz (June 2013). I worked for over six years for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy in the SF Bay Area as a Community Programs Manager leading habitat restoration volunteer programs. I was also the Senior Natural Resource Specialist for Carson City, Nevada for one year following my master's before starting my new graduate program.
