PhD Student
University of Connecticut
Hello! I'm Brandon Chan, a 2nd year PhD student in Dr. Colin Kremer's lab at the University of Connecticut. I describe myself as a marine microbiologist, with a primary research focus on phytoplankton-bacteria interactions and how these interactions change with climate change. In particular, I'm interested in mutualisms between phytoplankton and bacteria, symbiotic relationships that benefit both partners as they exchange goods and/or services. Specifically, I want to understand how mutualisms strengthen, break down, or change when exposed to stressful conditions, namely temperature. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to talk!
