Fog in coastal Mediterranean ecosystems is a vital source of water in dry summers. It is unknown how climate change may impact fog microclimates at Cabrillo National Monument (CABR). We collected weather and fog data using two cameras, four weather stations, and twelve leaf wetness sensors to figure out if climates vary on small spatial scales (>5km). Based on preliminary data, there is more fog present on the coastal side of the park compared to the inland side which corresponds with different plant communities. These findings inform vegetation management throughout the park.
