The accelerated interest in carbon dioxide removal (CDR) or carbon removal, as a climate change mitigation solution, is a global phenomenon that cannot go unnoticed. We are seeing experts from multiple sectors (industry, academia, governments, agriculture, forestry etc.) studying or planning different ways to study or conduct CDR, or investing in different CDR approaches and technologies. In this context, how do we link and sustain societally responsible, and measurable, reportable and verifiable (MRV-able) carbon removal efforts to advance climate smart economies? In this talk, I will delve into recent efforts addressing this challenge with networks of like-minded but diverse people.
