Global climate change and its effects are impacting both humans and other organisms. These impacts are often felt most severely by communities of color, including Black Americans, who were historically excluded from the fields of ecology and natural resources, and who rarely are involved in decision-making processes about natural resources and mitigating climate change. Black Americans who are interested in the environment often choose careers in environmental justice. I created the game #FindThatLizard to show that a Black woman could be a herpetologist and create a community that would support more Black people to pursue these types of careers.
