Part I: Fireside Chat between Drs. Collinge and Lubchenco

Ecological knowledge to action. Through conversation, Drs. Collinge and Lubchenco will highlight the importance of ecological knowledge in effectively addressing the interrelated triple crises of climate, biodiversity and equity.

Part II: Connecting the Nature Assessment and National Climate Assessment

Mr. James Rattling Leaf, ESA Public Affairs Committee will moderate the discussions.

Fifth National Climate Assessment. Allison Crimmins, Director of the Fifth National Climate Assessment will discuss the Fifth National Climate Assessment--a congressionally mandated report that evaluates the current state of the science of global change and analyzes the effects of global change on regions and sectors of the United States.

The Emerging National Nature Assessment. Dr. Phil Levin, Director of the National Nature Assessment, will discuss progress being made in producing the first ever National Nature Assessment. The NNA aims to report on the condition and trends in nature within the United States, the ways nature affects the economy, public health, environmental justice, climate mitigation and adaptation and national security.

Connecting Climate and Nature in National Assessments
James Rattling Leaf, Allison Crimmins and Phil Levin will discuss how changes in climate and nature are in many ways intertwined.
