Wi-Fi Network and Password

The Wi-Fi network name (SSID) at the OCC is ESA2023. A password is not needed to access this network.


Nursing /Lactation Room

Two Mamava nursing suites are available for attendees needing a quiet, private space. These private and secure suites are located near the A and E Meeting Rooms on Level 1. The suites are ADA-compatible with a comfortable seating area and are equipped with standard AC power outlets and USB charger ports. In addition to the Mamava Pods, A101 will also be set as a Nursing and Lactation Room with a fridge for storage.

Note: All Mamava suites come with a Bluetooth SmartLock that syncs with Mamava’s mobile app. Download the app at https://www.mamava.com/mobile-app/. You may also request a door code for entry from the OCC receptionists in the Administration Office on Level 2 or by calling 503-235-7575.

Quiet Room

The Quiet Room is an open and silent place where individuals who practice a religion requiring prayer space may pray, as well as non-religious individuals who would like a space to meditate or reflect can come and practice freely and openly. The area is open to all and has both standing and seated areas. The Quiet Room will be in Room A109 at the OCC.

Coffee/Tea Breaks

Complimentary coffee and tea service will be provided Monday through Thursday.

First Aid

First aid providers will be on duty at the Oregon Convention Center throughout the meeting. Anyone needing assistance may pick up any house phone in the Center to obtain emergency assistance by dialing 7575. House phones are in each corridor to reach help within the convention center.  A First Aid attendant will be available in the first aid room which is in PreFunction A Lobby.

Emergency Assistance

If you notice anything or anyone that makes you uncomfortable or you’re experiencing an emergency, please notify OCC stay by calling 503-731-7849 or dialing 7575 from any house phone located throughout the facility. Do not call 911 if you are inside the convention center – they will have issues locating you.

Wheelchair Rentals

If you need mobility assistance to make your visit easier while at the OCC, please stop by the OCC Welcome Desk on the Lobby Level to check out a wheelchair or electric scooter. Equipment is available on a first come, first served basis.

Jam Sessions

The MLK Jr. Lobby near the sit-steps will be available for informal jam sessions. Come join the fun to relax and unwind.

Gender Neutral Restrooms

Gender neutral restrooms are available near the A Meeting rooms. They will be marked and can be used by anyone, regardless of their gender, sex, or gender identity.

Press Office

The Press Office is in A103. The office is offered as an amenity for reporters, freelance journalists, and radio and television correspondents who attend the meeting and report on the scientific presentations. The telephone number in the Press Office is (503) 963-5822.

Speaker Ready Room

Room F152 has been designated as Speaker Ready Room. The room will be available Sunday, August 6 through Thursday, August 10th. The room is equipped with audiovisual equipment to allow speakers to review slides and materials. First come first serve. No signup is needed.

Lost and Found

Lost and found items are tagged, cataloged, and stored for 30 days at OCC. After that, unclaimed items are donated.  If you’ve lost something, call OCC Welcome Concierge at 503-731-7800 or email a detailed description to GuestExperience@oregoncc.org.  If you’ve found an item, it can be turned in to any OCC staff member, or at the OCC Welcome Desk located in the MLK Jr. Lobby.

OCC Guest Experience Marketplace

The OCC Guest Experience Marketplace is located next to the main Welcome Desk in front of the Guest Experience Office on the Lobby Level across from the MLK entrance. 

Services include:  

·     Self-serve complimentary cloud-based printing and copying (black and white, 8.5” x 11” paper only) 
·      CVS kiosk for pharmacy needs 
·      MagicBox kiosk for unique Portland themed gifts 

The Welcome Concierge is happy to also assist with: 

·      Wheelchair and electric scooter reservations 
·      Lost and found 
·      Directions and wayfinding within the building 
·      Information about local Portland attractions / dining options 
·      Sensory Bags

OCC is a KultureCity Certified Sensory Inclusive Venue. Sensory bags are available to help meet guests’ sensory needs and help them to feel calmer during their visit. The bags are filled with items that help to alleviate sensory overload and promote engagement. These items can be easily cleaned and sterilized, making them safe for multiple users. 

The Welcome Reception and Closing Network Reception are open to all registered meeting attendees. No advance signup is needed – these events are included with your meeting registration.

Pre-Registration is where you can pick up your badge and receipt if you’ve already registered.

Onsite Registration is where you can register or update your information.

Unfortunately we are unable to accept luggage or packages at Registration or hold them on behalf of attendees. Please check your luggage with your hotel if you need a place to keep it while you attend the meeting.

Event tickets may be purchased at the Onsite Registration Desk while supplies last. Tickets must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance of the function. ESA will not refund fees for unused tickets, but registrants are welcome to re-sell their event tickets if their plans change and they cannot use them.

The ESA Annual Meeting will provide an unique opportunity for an exchange of ideas and viewing of products and services of interest to ecology professionals. With over 50 booths, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to gather all the information you need in one location. (Refer to Exhibit Hall Floor Plan, listings of exhibitors in alphabetical and space number order, and exhibits and displays descriptions following the “Exhibits” tab in this program.)

We also encourage you to visit the ESA Booth in the Exhibit Hall to learn about ESA publications and programs, including Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, membership services, the SEEDS program, and public affairs activities. In addition, be sure to browse around.

Contributed and Latebreaking Poster Sessions

Monday – Thursday, 5:00 - 6:30 PM

Poster sessions will be held each afternoon in the Exhibit Hall. Contributed posters session will be held Monday -Wednesday and the Latebreaking poster session will be held on Thursday. During these sessions, presenters will be available to discuss their posters. The Exhibit Hall will open at 9:30 AM and remain open until poster sessions have ended at 6:30 PM. We ask that if possible, poster presenters hang their posters before 10:00 AM on the day of their presentation. This will allow attendees to browse posters during the day. Poster presenters should remove their poster at the end of the session on the day it is displayed. Complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available in the Exhibit Hall during poster sessions.
